Aims and Objectives

To enable the learner to have an understanding of basic infection control and how to minimize risks to themselves and others.

The Learners will be able to:

• Describe what an infection is and the different types of infections
• Understand the principles of infection control and transmission of infection
• Understand the Chain of Infection
• Know the Legal Requirements
• Know their own and their employers responsibilities
• Demonstrate effective hand washing
• Understand safe practices
• Know how to prevent and control infection

Assessment & Certification

Practical assessments and underpinning knowledge will be assessed and facilitated by the trainer.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion that is valid for 1 year to comply with recommendations by CQC.

We are accredited by NCFE and you can choose whether you wish to register for an accredited certificate.

 

Trainers/Tutors

All our trainers are fully qualified in infection control training and have a number of years’ experience working within the care skills sector.  All trainers and tutor undergo continuous training to inform them of changes to legislation and safe work practices.
