Safeguarding literally means protection from harm or abuse

This training course is to enable health & social care staff to have an understanding of safeguarding vulnerable people from harm and abuse.

All care organisations have a responsibility to protect vulnerable people by creating an environment where harm and abuse is not accepted.

 

Who Should Attend?

This course is specifically designed for all care workers including non-paid care workers who support vulnerable individuals.

 

Aims and Objectives

The aim of this course is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required deliver care safely and recognise signs and symptoms of un-safe practices.

 

Learners will be able to

• Understand what is abuse?
• Understand the different types of abuse
• Identify sign and symptoms of abuse
• Recognise preventative practices and protection measures
• Know how to report suspicions or allegations of abuse
• Understand the recording procedures when report abuse or harm

Assessment & Certification

Practical assessments and underpinning knowledge will be assessed and facilitated by the trainer.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion.

We are accredited by NCFE and you can choose whether you wish to register for an accredited certificate.
